Grafting

The grafting procedure at our dental office in Doral, FL, is conducted to add volume and density to your gums and jawbones. Your dentist suggests grafting if you have receding gums or jawbone loss. The graft material is taken from another part of your body and then added to the receded area. The procedures are conducted under the influence of local anesthesia, so you will not feel any pain. But you may experience slight discomfort or pain after the procedures, which is normal and would go away as the surgery site heals.

Gum Grafting

Whenever there is a gingiva recession, your body will lose its natural ability to fight against bacterial activity and decay. When we have patients with gum recession that becomes a problem, we may consider gum crafting a reconstruction treatment. If there is a minor recession, there may be enough healthy gingiva to protect your tooth. In such cases, gum grafting may not be required. However, this treatment is most often required when the recession has reached the mucosa.

Bone Grafting

Bone grafting is an oral surgery procedure required when the jawbone is not thick or dense enough for orthodontic or other treatment. The procedure involves placing materials at the point of extraction to help preserve bone height. The jawbone will then grow along with the grafted bone tissue to create a more stable and stronger foundation.

At Doral Dental Specialty Center, our primary aim is to help you gain better oral health in a friendly and relaxing environment. We offer comprehensive dental care services and perform different types of dental treatment under the same roof.
