Types of Retainers

There are different types of retainers and our orthodontist will suggest the one that best suits your needs. Hawley Retainers, Clear Essix Retainers, and Fixed Retainers get bonded behind the upper/lower front teeth and help you retain your beautiful smile.

Hawley Retainers

Hawley retainers use a combination of acrylic plate or hard plastic with a thin metal wire. The shape of the retainer is molded to your mouth for a comfortable fit on the roof of the mouth. The wire goes against the front of the top teeth. Once our Orthodontist in Doral, FL recommends these retainers, you will be required to wear them nightly for life. These retainers are designed to stay in place forever.
